The company was established in 1984 in technical and financial collaboration with a leading US manufacturer and was the pioneer manufacturer of Knife Gate valves in the country. During the fourteen odd years, technology was absorbed and improved and the company has grown into the largest manufacturer of knife gate valves in India with over 70% market share.The collaboration with the US company, which had a 40% equity participation, was discontinued in 1998, primarily because the company wanted to enter the export market in a big way. While the collaboration was in force, the market was largely restricted to India except for few shipments to overseas customers within the allocated sales territory, mainly Nepal and Bangladesh. However, since then, the products of the company have been exported to Australia, UK, USA, Thailand and Singapore and have been very well received in these markets. VAAS has now finalized distribution arrangements in Australia, USA and Europe and is poised for a major expansion of its export markets.VAAS philosophy has always been to offer high quality products at the right price and to be a leader in knife gate valve technology by offering solutions for customersâ?? varied and difficult applications. This has led to the present product range which include valves in 50 to 1200mm size in a variety of materials in the standard range besides application-specific specials such as coal burner isolation valves, square/rectangular knife gate valves etc. VAAS also manufactures its own range of manual and pneumatic actuators for their valves and offer the unique feature of field inter-changeability between them. Options available on these valves cover a very wide spectrum of requirements- stem extensions, floor stands, manual overrides, fail safe systems and exotic materials of construction among others.
